Leading audio-visual technology provider buk Solutions has just completed work on upgrading the General Dental Council’s tribunal hearing rooms after winning the contract to supply both the hardware and software for the project.

Buk is no stranger to supplying the technology for professional regulatory bodies having installed microphone and recording systems in 28 hearing rooms for the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) at its Stratford site in East London, and other sites in London, Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh.

It also supplied and installed hearing-room technology and hardware for the world-renown International Arbitration Centre in central London as well as installing and supporting court-room recording systems in the UK judicial courts throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Buk won the competitive tender to provide the DARTS (Digital Audio Recording Transcription and Storage) technology to the General Dental Council’s 5 hearing rooms at Wimpole Street in London.

Now the rooms will utilise specialist recording and workflow management software from VIQ Solutions, supplied in the UK only through buk.

For this application, the VIQ CapturePro recording software has been optimised to support 10 separate channels of top-quality uncompressed audio, capturing the evidence in a secure, searchable and shareable file.

Secure recordings will be stored for up to 10 years and can be accessed and shared by authorised personnel for transcription or legal purposes.

Other hardware supplied includes high-performance Shure Push-To-Talk Microphones and PreSonus multi-channel Audio capture technology, which integrate perfectly with the software package to deliver a user-friendly and modern solution, designed for every-day use for years to come.
