Why do I need two interpreters?
You need two language interpreters because simultaneous interpreting is mentally exhausting, and no single interpreter can maintain accuracy, speed, and concentration for long periods without a break. Simultaneous interpreters work in 15 – 20 minute shifts because the brain load is extremely high. They must listen, understand, translate, and speak all at the same time, with only a few seconds of delay. After about half an hour, accuracy drops sharply. That’s why professional standards require a team of two interpreters who alternate to keep the interpretation clear, accurate, and safe for the audience
