Surrey University Interpreter Suite Refresh

The University of Surrey has recently had its interpreter training suites upgraded to the latest market-leading technology, designed and installed by buk solutions.

Upon completion of the tender and bidding process, buk solutions commissioned and integrated a state-of the-art system bringing together hardware from Brahler, Kramer, Sony, Iiyama and more. Utilising Dante audio over IP technology to route audio into Sanako’s latest interpreter training and dual-track recording software.

The goal was to modernise the facility and provide a solution that would allow students at the University to gain hands-on experience with the latest interpretation technology currently used in multilingual conferences all around the world.

The upgrade from the older Brahler CDSVAN technology installed around 10 years ago to their latest DigiMic range keeps students familiar with the type of equipment they are most likely to experience on real world assignments and confirms Brahler’s place as the leading provider of simultaneous interpretation equipment.

The new suite was designed with professionalism and flexibility at the forefront. Full integration with Sanako’s conference interpreting software package gives tutors and students a range of on-site and hybrid / blended teaching and learning opportunities.

buk continues to give professional post-install support to the University through a comprehensive 5-year maintenance and support package.
