Camera control
Camera control
In any environment, whether it be at a conference, board room or court room, it is essential that those in the space can see the person who is speaking. In these scenarios, the most practical method of tracking the speaker is to direct the camera to the microphone location using camera control software.
Most of the big players in the conferencing market have camera-control software and buk can supply you with your preferred brand (Brähler, Bosch, Televic, Shure etc.)
For our installation at the International Arbitration Centre (IAC) we used a Brähler DIGIMIC microphone system, in combination with Brähler CamControl2 software module to direct one of three available Sony SRG 300 PTZ cameras to the active microphone, giving a close-up head and shoulders shot of the speaker as they deliver their address.
Brähler CamControl2 links with a video matrix switcher to choose the ‘best shot’ available. The software registers requests to speak from the microphones and then controls the camera and points it to the corresponding location.
Using multiple cameras allows the next speaker to be ‘lined up’ on an inactive camera ready for when their address begins. There is no blurry movement seen as the camera moves from one speaker to another, as one will already be in position based on the order in which the delegates request to speak.
The best available shot selected by the software is known as the ‘program feed’ and it is this image that is displayed on screens within the room, in breakout rooms, recorded, webcasted or sent through a video conferencing system.
Buk can add camera control to existing microphone systems or build it in from the start of a new project. There are lots of options available to suit different budgets and requirements, we will help you to select the right package base on your needs.
