Buk has been bearing the heat of Gibraltar during a 10-week installation. Which included a new, state-of-the-art Court recording system and full AV upgrade across all 7 Gibraltar Law Courts; including magistrates, coroners, and the historic supreme courts.

Dating back to 1830, these historic court buildings have seen thousands of court cases over the years, and now BUK has given them a much needed upgrade.

This monumental undertaking involved…

• Over 100 Commercial grade Displays from Samsung and Iiyama
• Fully integrated Kramer AV distribution and control system
• 4K PTZ cameras in all courtrooms
• Poly Video Conferencing equipment throughout
• PreSonus USB recording in all courts
• 90+ Kramer KDS7 Encoders and Decoders
• New Audio Technica microphones in all courts
• VIQ CapturePro, Media Manager and central server software
• Hundreds of new AV and network cables

AV technician, Pete Marusarz, had the important task of assembling the new AV racks. This included programming the Kramer and Poly systems that were essential to making the new installation run efficiently & reliably.

“The project was a massive challenge for the whole team. We had to pre-program and configure as much of the equipment as possible here in Cambridge. We tested and proved before shipping it out to Gibraltar. The extensive work we put in pre-install, really paid off once we got to site. It was the biggest installation project I have been involved in and I hope to see many more like this in the future”.

After our 3 hour flight & transporting over 1,000kg of equipment over 1,600 miles, the physical installation began in July 2023. Our dedicated team of 5 spent the next several weeks hard at work carefully removing the old equipment and installing the new AV hardware.

We installed video links, multi-channel audio recordings and MS Teams integration. We thoroughly tested in all courtrooms, often running late into the evenings.

With the installation finished, our team is now back in the rainy UK & will be providing all the necessary maintenance and support of this carefully commissioned installation for the next 5 years.
